Deryn Parker

My path into the massage and holistic world came at a young age as I was surrounded by Spiritual Mediums, Holistic Therapists and Reiki Masters. Encouraged by them I began mixing my own aromatherapy oils at the age of 11. By the age of 17 I was working in a ladies health club carrying out facials, foot massage, back massage and full body treatments for nearly 2 years. My career took me on a very different journey for 12 years where I became experienced in accounts, administration, quality and safety. Returning to the industry 4 years ago more professional and prepared to run my own business, I retrained in many different disciplines to learn the healing arts such a Reiki Master, Indian Head, Warm Bamboo, Fire Cupping and many more different Eastern techniques. I am also a student in osteopathy to further develop my knowledge as I believe a therapist never stops learning. I offer wonderful treatments to clients bringing treatments from around the world and would really enjoy working with students to bring them the same success and enjoyment. Providing treatments is enjoyable and rewarding, I never regret my decision to come into this line of work and I can guarantee as a student you will enjoy your journey just as much.

Sharon Tasker

Following extensive world travels, absorbing many cultures and holistic health practices. I returned to Scotland, inspired and eager to learn more. I had grown out, of my previous career path and wanted a fresh start, within a field where I felt I could 'make a difference'.

I enrolled as a full time student for 2 years and attained my Higher National Diploma (with merits) in Beauty Therapy. During this growth spurt I also gained further qualifications in numerous Holistic Therapies, and started learning my trade within different industry environments such as: high street salon; large health club and International Hotel Spa.

Once I felt my skill set and experience, met high end, industry standards. I then launched my own 'sole trading' business 'Soul Therapies' Day Spa in 2005. Which resided within both a prestigious, International hotel(plc) and an NHS owned hotel/hospital until 2016.

During this time, I attained my initial training qualification and have continued to work as a freelance Holistic & Beauty Therapy Tutor since 2011.

In 2015 after further University study, I graduated with a Bachelor of Arts (with Distinction) in Teaching in Further Education. Following on from this, I gained extensive experience, as a Lecturer in Complementary/Beauty Therapies within an FE College.

Working as a private tutor allows me to work fully holistically and authentically within my field. As within the smaller group or 1:1 training scenario, I can deliver a far more student centred and personalised approach in my delivery. Which is by far a more enjoyable, educational experience, for both myself and my returning students.

My journey into this field of work continues to be ever evolving and fulfilling. And I look very much forward, to you joining me on this journey, where we can collectively grow and learn together whilst 'making a difference'.

Sandra Lucchesi

I began my career working in the Beauty Industry in 2001, aged 28.  I had previously worked within Banking and other office related roles but wanted a change of career.  After gaining a qualification in Acrylic and Gel Nails, I continued my obsession with all things beauty, nails and holistic by achieving a qualification in NVQ Level 2 Beauty Therapy and NVQ Level 3 Beauty Therapy Massage.

In 2011 I gained my PTTLS and Certificate of Education teaching qualifications alongside an Assessors Qualification, and began a teaching role within a College of Further Education teaching NVQ and GCSE Beauty.

Although I enjoyed teaching within Further Education, I missed working within a salon environment, so in 2016 I opened my first salon in Wolverhampton, with my business partner, where I look forward to continuing teaching students, sharing my knowledge and passing on my love of the industry.

Sophie Croxford

I came late in life to Holistic Therapies and it is the best thing I have ever done. Six years ago, after a life of a good career, time living abroad and children, I decided to go back to college to study massage.  The only course on offer was Level 3 Diploma in Complementary Therapies – Reflexology, Swedish Massage and Aromatherapy, so I took the plunge and went for that. I have never looked back. I run my thriving therapy business from my home and have a wonderful loyal client base which keeps me busy. I treat all sorts of clients and more recently have been doing work with autistic adults and clients with Huntingdons Disease, Lipodema , Cancer  and other serious conditions.

Along the way I have trained (and still do) in a large variety of massage modalities, different reflexology treatments and facials. I am also a Reiki/Seichem Master. Having gained my teaching qualification 12 years ago, I wanted to be able to teach the therapies I had learned to other therapists and have been doing that for a few years now. I love teaching fellow therapists the joy of another treatment that they can go and use for themselves.  The job satisfaction in our industry is enormous and I feel so grateful to have found what I should have been doing all my life.

Amanda Chivers

Hi, my name is Amanda Chivers, I’m a holistic therapist and trainer. I qualified in beauty therapy from London College of Fashion in 1991 and have worked in the industry ever since.

I have worked in small family run salons, national spas, for an international salon franchise company and owned my own skin care clinic in London. I now work from home in the heart of Kent offering a select range of therapies, and as a holistic and beauty trainer.

It was when I was working for the franchise company, 20 years ago, that I first started training other therapists and loved it! I was very fortunate that it took me all over the world including Australia, Saudi and India.

After selling my salon in 2014 I concentrated on my love of skin care and holistic therapies and only offer those treatments I feel work with your own body to reach a place of love and acceptance. I trained as a Reiki Practitioner, started teaching again and continue to deepen my spiritual development by studying one to one with an All Faith Minister, Buddhist and Shamanic Tutor so that I may help others with their own journey.
